About Us
Inspired by her dedication to spoil pets and driven by the spirit of entrepreneurism,
Maria Pietroforte founded Prissy Dog LLC™ from the home office of her suburban
Los Angeles home in 2007. Maria had a successful corporate career. Then the time
came to rethink her career. Maria hated leaving her dogs to go away on business
trips and that office policies often were not pet friendly. She wanted a career that
would allow more balance in her life, more time with her dogs, and where she could
create a business culture and work environment that would invigorate people.
Her experience as a president to multimillion dollar companies and her passion to make
a difference for animals and people motivated her to create Prissy Dog. She came up
with a simple plan: offer designer quality pet accessories directly to consumers through
in-home parties performed by a sales force of "Prissy Dog Consultants." Not forgetting
those who love their pets, Maria designed a line of accessories for the pet parent too!
With the support of her husband, Horst, and two dogs, Prissy and Max, Maria put her
plan into action. Her unfailing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and opportunities
is woven into the very foundation of Prissy Dog. Many of the Prissy Dog Consultants are pet
owners who have been empowered to develop lucrative businesses while staying home to
spoil their pets, manage their households and enjoy life.
Prissy Dog brings pets and people together, not only through its direct-selling opportunity,
but also through its Prissy Dog Parties. Maria believes "When people have a pet, they experience
unconditional love and friendship that will change their life." Her philosophy about the importance
of the family pet has shaped and guided Prissy Dog from the very beginning.
